ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY

We are a non-profit association formed through the collaboration of companies, NGOs and academic institutions with the purpose of facilitating the job search for mobile employees’ partners, and providing member companies access to a turnkey pool of talent.

WHO WE ARE

A team of expats volunteers supporting the corporate partners, and forming the IDCN partner committee. The volunteers are represented at board meetings by the current volunteer president.

OUR HISTORY

Nestle, L’Oreal and AXA working in partnership established IDCN Paris in September 2012

Since then the Paris network has grown to 19 companies (as at May 2016), with plans to grow the network further. As of today L’Oréal, Nestle, AXA, Danone, Saint-Gobain, Technip, Air Liquide, Essilor, Sanofi, Galderma, LVMH, LaFarge Holcim, BNP Paribas, France Benevolat, Nissan, Solvay, Le Ministère des Affaires étrangères et du Développement international, Total and recently joined OECD, are our member companies.  This year, 2016, AXA and Saint Gobain have joined as Global committee members!

Our events are designed to help expat partners network with each other and leading multinational companies, learn about the local job market and facilitate their professional development whilst here in France.

Events to date have helped expat partners in the following ways:

  1. Understand the local labour market.

  2. Develop cultural understanding of living and working in France.

  3. 1-2-1 advice about presenting CVS & BIOS in France.

  4. Round table discussions with HR representatives from our partner companies.

  5. Workshops with function experts across the major employment strands.

  6. The opportunity to meet and network with HR professionals.

  7. Advice on employment contract types.

  8. Developing knowledge of self-employment.

IDCN Paris provides its members several benefits of membership.

  • The opportunity to meet with HR at events.

  • Regular “CV clinics” at events, helping members present themselves professionally to French employers.

  • Continuous professional development activities at events.

  • Listening to and interaction with selected expert guest speakers.

  • Networking with a group of expat peers.

  • Meeting new people and building friendships.

  • Attendance at social events.
